Upper School
Dean of Students
Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill seeks a full-time Upper School Dean of Students to join our passionate, invested community of learners.
Trinity is a highly missional school, and an understanding of and commitment to the school’s mission is essential: our mission is to educate students in transitional kindergarten to grade twelve within the framework of Christian faith and conviction—teaching the classical tools of learning; providing a rich yet unhurried curriculum; and communicating truth, goodness, and beauty. We seek staff who love Jesus and delight in teenagers. This position is a 12-month contract. The Dean of Students will work alongside the Director of Upper School and the Upper School Administrative Assistant to facilitate the daily operations of the Upper School, which comprises grades 9–12.
The Dean of Students manages all major aspects of the student experience outside the classroom. These arenas include large-scale programs and structures of the Upper School such as Advisory, Student Orientation, Overnight Retreats, Winterim, the Dress Code, and Cornerstone.
The Dean of Students is also responsible for all student behavior and discipline, student attendance, student clubs and organizations including the Honor Council, and student events such as Prom and Homecoming.
